Happy February! This month is all about love, so I thought I’d check in with a quick note to focus on spreading some good feels this month.
Show Yourself Some Love
It’s so important to take care of yourself! And it’s okay if your self-care doesn’t look like all the internet suggestions. (Personally, I find that a warm bath usually ends up being more trouble than it’s worth.)
One of my favorite ways to give myself some love is to head to my local library and check out a stack of books almost as tall as I am, then spend the rest of the day lying on my stomach on the floor like a five-year-old, working my way through the chapters.
Take home message? Don’t default to a candlelit evening if that’s not actually your thing. Listen to your unique self and do something you truly enjoy.
Show Your Friends and Family Some Love
I know you do this every day in so many amazing ways! With family and friends, I find it’s mostly a matter of paying attention and being thoughtful.
It’s really so simple to let someone know you care. So take a moment to pick up their favorite treat at the grocery store, text to check in with them, or take care of a chore you know they struggle with. I love it when someone sends me a piece of good old-fashioned snail mail or spends some time with me in the kitchen.
Show Your Clients Some Love
If you’re a small business owner, why not show your clients some love too? You might include a gift with your services, offer a special discount, or host a fun event, depending on the type of business you run.
I like to send little surprise freebies at random times throughout the year to let my clients know I’m thinking of them or give them a shoutout on social media.
And of course, always doing your absolute best for clients is one of the simplest and most consistent ways you can show that you value them.
Show Your Community Some Love
Spreading the love doesn’t have to stop there, and it doesn’t have to end when February does. One of my favorite ways to show my community some love is by volunteering. There are so many fantastic organizations that would love your help!
I’m also a big believer in showing love to the community in little ways: asking my cashier how their day is going, being positive and respectful on the internet, making sure my tiny little corner of the world is clean and cared for…stuff that doesn’t take much, but can make a big difference.
What are your favorite ways to show that you care?
